The app is operated by ST PURRFECT APPS DEVELOPMENT LIMITED. Questions about these Terms go to connect@purrfectappsltd.com.
You photograph a meal; the app identifies the food in it and estimates calories and macronutrients. The result is added to a diary organised by meal, where portions can be adjusted and entries edited or removed. Meals can also be added by hand, searched from the food list, or created as your own items.
A number produced from a photograph is a guess, and a photograph is a poor witness. Portion size is judged from a flat image with no scale. Oil, butter, sugar and sauce disappear into a dish and are frequently missed. Two plates that look identical can differ by hundreds of calories depending on how they were cooked.
Portions can be corrected by hand, and doing so is usually worth the few seconds it takes. Treat what the app shows as a rough orientation rather than a measurement. It is no substitute for a food scale, a nutrition label, or a professional who knows your circumstances.
The app estimates what is on a plate. It does not know your body, your history, or your goals, and nothing it shows is medical advice, dietary advice, or a treatment plan.
A doctor or a registered dietitian can look at your circumstances and say what the numbers mean for you — the app cannot, and we would encourage you to ask them rather than guess from a photograph. That is especially worth doing if you are pregnant, living with diabetes, kidney or liver disease, or any condition where intake matters clinically, and always before changing medication or insulin on the strength of what you see here.
Never use the app to decide whether a food is safe for you. Recognition cannot see trace amounts, cannot know that a kitchen substituted an ingredient, and cannot detect cross-contamination. It identifies what a dish looks like, not what is in it.
If you have an allergy or an intolerance, ask the person who prepared the food, and speak to an allergist about how to manage it day to day.
The app is a way to be curious about food, not a rule to obey. Some people find that counting helps, and some find that it quietly makes eating harder. If it is doing the second, it is worth stepping back and speaking to a doctor, a dietitian, or a therapist who works with eating — they will be far more use than a daily total.
The app is not designed for managing an eating disorder and should not be used for that purpose.
The app carries a 12+ rating in the App Store and is meant for people at or above that age. How you read what it shows you, and what you do about it, is yours to judge.
Some features require a paid subscription, billed to your Apple ID through the App Store. Price and period are shown before you confirm a purchase.
Subscriptions renew on their own unless auto-renew is switched off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Renewal settings live in your Apple ID subscription settings, and deleting the app does not cancel a plan.
Refunds are decided by Apple under App Store rules. We cannot reverse an App Store transaction ourselves.
The software, design, and content of the app belong to the company or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Reproducing the app, altering it, passing it on, taking it apart to recover the source, or using any of it to assemble a rival product are all outside that licence.
Use the app lawfully and for what it was built to do. Do not tamper with how it runs, and do not reach for data or systems you have no right to. Recognition is built for one person photographing one plate at a time; putting automated software in front of it is not permitted.
Scanning needs a connection and a working server on our end, so it will sometimes be slow, sometimes unavailable, and sometimes a request simply comes back empty. Manual entry does not depend on either and keeps working throughout. Parts of the app may be updated, altered, or withdrawn over time.
The app comes as it stands. Nothing here promises that it will always be reachable, that a given estimate will be right, or that a request will produce a result at all.
Beyond what the law refuses to let us exclude, we carry no liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses tied to the app, including whatever follows from acting on an estimate. Where some liability must remain, it stops at the amount you paid through the app in the twelve months before the claim.
These Terms are between you and the company, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app and has no obligation to provide support for it.
Access may be suspended if these Terms are broken. You may stop using the app at any time by removing it from your device.
We update these Terms when the app changes in a way that affects them. The date at the top shows which version is current, and carrying on with the app after that date means you are working under it.
